went to visit the residents yesterday afternoon. i spent my time with one of e residents i hadn't spoke with before. he can't hear very well, so our main form of communication was by writing and simple gestures. he's old, about 50 or so, quite lonely but is very pleasant. we built a house using last week's painted ice-cream sticks.:) in fact, we used alot of them! it took some time, n e house is abit slanted because a few of the sticks had not been arranged in order. but its a nice house n i like it. i asked him n he said he did too, haha.

nowadays after visiting them, i feel sad, because they are ill, n i'm not able to make it better. its nothing like our injuries when we fall, or when we have our colds n fevers, because we get better easily and it isn't the same for them. the resident whom i spent the session with, i asked him if his family visits him, he said no. when i told him i'll come n visit him next week, he said 'xie xie' n held his palm up, so we had something like a high-five. i wish the families of these residents would visit them, if not once a week then at least as much as they're able.

on another note, i'd been brooding over my relationship with my juniors in band. it almost seems as though we are strangers now. i've always wished i had a senior who cares for me. we would keep in touch with each other n talk abt how our lives are. but it hasn't ever been that way. n my juniors don't feel the same way. i wonder if its because we're all moving on.

i'll be keeping to 5 modules this sem, since its not possible to add another one bcos e bid points are too high. have been doing my tutorials n reading up on e texts so far. mus put in more effort!:)
