thank u shima, nally tan n linfang 4 ur presents!! :) like them a lot! gt a hp holder n v cute card from lf, a disney photo frame n type-written card fr shima, n pants from tan. :)

but nally's bdae cake din hav candles on it in e end, bcos e stupid cake shop din give candle holders. hahaha, so instead e candles we lighted n put on e cardboard in front of e cake. lks quite nice fr e photo on fb! :) hahaha!

the weekend's over le! :)

haha i should put :( instead, bcos still nt looking forward to gng to sch very much. partly bcos it still feels unfamiliar, the faces i see everyday, though i can navigate around e sch on my own nw, n hv found my mugging place. in each of the 5 tutorials we will start having this week, there'll be so many strangers, ple i'd nt known or seen b4.

how i wish uni classes could be like those we had in jc, whr there's a sense of familiarity n closeness, n laughter tts shared by every1. i miss s07!!

will try my best i promise, jiayou every1!

on saturday! haha bcos of e lect we missed on national day hol. but e lecturer prof hum's pretty gd! :) e best among all e modules!

wk 2's gone by fast enough! tuts only start nxt wk, thr's homework for all except 1 module. still, feel drained by e end of e wk. feel like sleeping in e bus gng hme all e time.. hv lessons til 6 for 3 days, but dey start arnd noon. wished dey were morning lessons!

a bit worried abt e managerial econs module i'm taking, bcos everything's very new. cant understand a qn in e tutorial.. e one we're supposed to do b4 tut next wk. -__-

finally blog le!

i'm officially 19 as of yesterday. :) this year's was esp memorable, but i don't mean it all in e positive way. actually felt quite sad n cried a bit yday bcos of some family problems. but alright now, haha.

there's another thing tt made it memorable, n this is not good news. around ten plus last night, there was a fire at an apartment, same block where i live, but bcos e block's L-shaped, i could see it from my kitchen window.

it caught my attention bcos some people were standing downstairs facing e block, n shouting. i thought it was another suicide case, bcos there had been one a few yrs back. n didn't notice black smoke coming out of a fifth flr kitchen window! someone had called for e scdf but they hadn't reached yet, n already more n more black smoke was rising from e windows. then 2 fire engines arrived, n some rushed up to e unit n e others attached long hoses to a fire hydrant n started spraying water up at e unit. e smoke got thicker n thicker n den it was pretty hard to see, but e firemen gt it under control, put it out. it appeared that no one was inside e apt at tt time, so no one gt injured. phew! :) still i think e whole apt must be black n everything damaged nw, with e big fire.

ohh bought a table n chair today from IKEA, for mugging purposes. bcos in e past i always use a kitchen stool to do my work, but e stool's v high n my body too short, so it ended up i had to strain to see. -__- hahaha, finally my own table! self-assembled by me n my mother! :) black table n chair!

yesterday too, bcos one lect was cancelled, n tutorials don't start till wk 2 or 3. met wan lin & zu qing from my alum gp yday afternn, n we went for e library orientation, bought a course pkt n explored our 2 biz blocks. found the seminar rms where we'll be having our tuts. e school's quite old, but i like e biz/ hon sui sen memorial library! a lot of tables n chairs to study alone or tgr, n quiet, a lot quieter than central library. we'll proly be moving to e new biz building, called e Mochtar Riady Building, next yr when construction's completed. v strange architectural design, haha.

met nicole agn yday outside e library, to buy e mgt & org course pkt. oh, n we saw jeffrey too! he's doing mechan. engrg.

agn bought 2 bks yday, lol! financial acc, n microeconomics. -__- dey r quite needed for learning bcos e lecturers refer to them too. must start working hard alr! :)

agn bought another bk- Operations Management for one of e modules we're studying this sem. only $15! hahaha i like buying 2nd/3rd hand.

met nicole on thursday to pass her my jc bio notes; she's in FoS, Chemistry! :) hearing fr her abt e topics dey gt to cover for the general bio module can vomit blood- thr seem to be so many topics to learn.

went to alister's home in e morning, to pass e assessment bks to his father. yup i'm no longer teaching tutn nw. feel sad leaving him, n not telling him personally why i chose to. somehow its not just a job; to me it'd been a responsibility also. i didn't have to quit; i could have continued to the end of e yr, yet i chose to, for reasons i can't put in words.

the song tts playing is fr Fated to love you, e drama series showing on Ch U @10pm. :) watched e show on dvd a yr ago- v sad towards e end, but happy ending. nice show but a lot of hokkien (spoken by xinyi's mother) which i couldn't understand.


can't take any of the minor modules this semester. there r 6 modules in total, but only one without pre-requisites, that's Mathematics I, haha! wanted to take together with e 1st yr engineering students, but found that my timetable clashes with 3 out of 4 lecture slots. n for the one that doesn't- have to fly to get there in time, bcos its immediately before n after the biz tuts n lectures. -__- no way to rearrange my timetable for this sem, so cannot have it nw, next sem i hope! :)

lecture notes n tuts r up on IVLE for Op. Mgt. printed e first few, all ppt slides. so many pages.. waste ink n paper!

still at the book on Intro. to Biz Law, written by 1 of e lecturers. Zzz.. a lot of things to remember, plus all e exceptions to certain Acts. how to remember all? -_-

school's a week away, n so's National Day! have very fond memories of NDP in pri n sec sch. back in pri sch, always loved the national day celebrations, bcos it always involved a lot of singing, freebies n not to mention half-days! somehow the newer ndp songs heard on e telly n radio nw aren't as sweet as the older ones; be it count on me s'pore, home etc etc.

i'll never forget the year of 2003- when i was only sec one, n our sch participated in the mass dance! the learning n coordinating process isn't as fun as others like to believe; 2 or 3 days a week, we stay aft sch to practise til evening. n because we wore tags on our front n back with a 3-digit number, the instructors could spot e weaker ones n pull them out for extra lessons. i rmbr tt i was called once; haha so embarrassing!

we all dragged our feet during practices, having to stand under e sun for a few hrs every session, sweating under e heat n our running. but at the end, all those became precious, happy memories, a once in a lifetime experience. :)

i love my island nation, n the peace n stability it has given me throughout my childhood! happy 44th birthday!
