its friday, no school!! :D have shifted some of my tutorials so there'll be no more school on saturday, n friday's free. first time using the online add/drop/swap @ cors n learnt sm useful things le. once it opens, u've to rush in n snatch e available vacancies. my friend did it for me during lect, n by the time i reached home 2 hours later e good vacancies were all gone! left the sat tutorials which nobody wants.

tutorials haven't started; they're gng to next wk. i keep feeling like sleeping during lect, idk must be something wrong with me. not all e lects actually, but one or two where e lecturers teach in a monotone. >_< have a sot-sot lecturer for statistics, n a funny one for marketing, hahaha. wonder why so many of them are almost bald, center no hair, left a few strands at the sides.

starting to feel a little lonely again. but i have to be independent! old enough to be by myself, because i'm almost twenty. in 7 months' time.:)

went to visit the residents yesterday afternoon. i spent my time with one of e residents i hadn't spoke with before. he can't hear very well, so our main form of communication was by writing and simple gestures. he's old, about 50 or so, quite lonely but is very pleasant. we built a house using last week's painted ice-cream sticks.:) in fact, we used alot of them! it took some time, n e house is abit slanted because a few of the sticks had not been arranged in order. but its a nice house n i like it. i asked him n he said he did too, haha.

nowadays after visiting them, i feel sad, because they are ill, n i'm not able to make it better. its nothing like our injuries when we fall, or when we have our colds n fevers, because we get better easily and it isn't the same for them. the resident whom i spent the session with, i asked him if his family visits him, he said no. when i told him i'll come n visit him next week, he said 'xie xie' n held his palm up, so we had something like a high-five. i wish the families of these residents would visit them, if not once a week then at least as much as they're able.

on another note, i'd been brooding over my relationship with my juniors in band. it almost seems as though we are strangers now. i've always wished i had a senior who cares for me. we would keep in touch with each other n talk abt how our lives are. but it hasn't ever been that way. n my juniors don't feel the same way. i wonder if its because we're all moving on.

i'll be keeping to 5 modules this sem, since its not possible to add another one bcos e bid points are too high. have been doing my tutorials n reading up on e texts so far. mus put in more effort!:)

visited the residents again yesterday. this time, i felt a little sad after we left them. sad because i can't seem to help them much, i can't seem to bring them some happiness. all i can do, am doing, is to be a listening ear, talking to them, asking them abt themselves to know them at a deeper level. am i really helping them at all? i've asked myself this question. there's so little i have to give, i don't know what else i can give them. we see them two hours a week, but they have to be cooped up in the ward every single day. i'm glad we'll be bringing them out to the beach later in jan. they will be happy to be outside for a change.

i wish i can do more for them. i want to, n i hope i will as i slowly understand them better.

yee-er, school's starting next monday. no more afternoon naps, haha! :)

have my timetable alr, given by e school. can't fit in my ss module!! i hope i can get e tutorial slots i need so my lessons won't clash. this is what i hope i'll be reading this coming sem: SSS1207 Natural Heritage of Singapore. its an interesting module, which encourages u to take field trips on yr own. like sungei buloh, n nature reserves.

haven't clear up my messy table n cupboards yet, no motivation to. i'll do it today or tml ok! :) meanwhile i'm finishing up on my LAST storybook n HK dvd. won't be so free to read after school starts, will do all that again in june, aft sem2 exams!

2010's here. :) i hope i'll make this year a good and fulfilling one!

i have many new year wishes, but among them there are 2 important ones.
1. be accepted by uni of edinburgh for sep in jan-may 2011
2. continue volunteering at IMH n be able to bring joy to e residents

at e same time, i have many worries. (i'm a worrier by nature, u know :)) whether or not i can continue with vltring there, bcos my allocated lessons clash with it. n whether or not i can afford paying for my exchange, be it in uk or australia. i hope i can, for both of them. i'll try my best to switch to ano slot, n oso start saving up as much as i can. afterall, everything's possible n nothing's impossible, right? i have to work hard if i want to have them.

happy new year! :)
